Here I am, avoiding the start of a new paragraph in my history essay on the Arab-Israeli conflict as I got distracted by the song 'Yesterday' which has been self-playing in my head for the entire day. It is hindering me in thinking about how the Great Power interests hindered the resolution of the Arab-Israeli conflict. Nevertheless, every weekend around this time, i grow to be ambitious and i start aiming to complete heaps of assignments that I've laid out over the weekend. Right now, im left with
-a paragraph for Arab-Israeli essay
-econs HCI case study
-lit paper 1 qns on chapter 60
-Indo-pakistani essay
hee.
I dont really fancy blogging about homework but that is mostly what makes up my mind recently, excluding those random thoughts and distractions that i entertain half the time.
Im waiting for fall to come so that my life will be COMPLETE again and my, i guess that has become a periodic part of my life. Why does it already seem like the June Holidays??
YesterdayI was even confusing it with reality. But nooo. School's in 5hour's time. :(
O. Happy Birthday, Shaun C!
-1.23am, spacing out in front of computer screen, with many more things to do
& hamsters munching off their lazy lives away beside me.

Holy Week
So, I thought I should summarise what happened to me the past few days because, I must say, it was pretty eventful and reflective.
Maundy Thursday
Isabel and I missed out the “non-catholic” party at a non-catholic’s house to celebrate the non-catholic’s birthday cos we got to go for Maundy Thursday mass. So, I rushed home from school…only to realise that the mass would only be starting at 9.30pm and not 8pm, unlike other catholic churches. But since the non-catholic’s happy about his party, I shall not feel bad about it. :D I procrastinated here and there and rushed to church right on the dot only to see it fully filled up two levels high, though expected. If my mum had not messaged me the exact location of where she was sitting I’d be so lost. I thought the mass was pretty reflective and I was much focused. There’s this custom during Maundy Thursday mass every year that is, a chance for the parishioners to reenact the scene of the Last Supper, whereby Jesus washed his apostles’ feet. So for the first time in my life, I washed my mum’s feet and vice versa. I wanted to wash my Dad’s feet too but he wasn’t sitting with us. Sigh, being an overly-responsible Communion Minister he’s always on duty. Anyway, mass lasted for two hours and there was some drizzle when I was on my way home.
I reflected on John 13:34.
Good Friday
After I came home from Maundy Thursday mass I signed up for civics elective, watched Hell’s kitchen and slept around 11 hours. When I woke up I had only 15min left to set off to church again, for Good Friday’s mass. Everything was gloomy and depressing; I was awake and reflecting…though the tranquil moments were endlessly disturbed by some people.. Well, mass was altogether almost two hours. It wasn’t really a day to enjoy much so I did little at home and anticipated the rain that would promptly come at this time of the year. Kinda interesting isn’t it. I slept for around…
Easter Vigil
10 hours and I got woken up by my brother who was worried we would be late to catch a movie. He asked me repeatedly to come along though I came up with a million excuses to reject purely cos its screened at the church he goes to – a non-catholic church. After really much hesitation I went; it was like enrolling for war but not exactly too. Haha. So a movie it was, but I had to go through an hour of Praise and Worship with the people there first. Luckily it was no shock to me as I’ve been to P&W numerous times. (YES, CATHOLICS DO HAVE P&W!) I had to disappoint my brother’s friends a lil’ by telling them how it was really no surprise for me. So we watched a Czech short film “MOST” which only lasted for half an hour and did sharing, which was another no surprise for me. (YES, CATHOLICS DO HAVE SHARINGS TOO) Amidst all those thoughts in my mind then, I really enjoyed myself since I rarely go out with my brother and talk on long train rides. Nonetheless the company there was great too, but I was surrounded by NUS/SMU students the whole time since my brother’s one of them. There was this struggle between the two groups of students, both sides telling me how awesome their school is and stuff, it seemed a tad far-fetched but I do realise how near it actually is. Oh, and one annoying part was when this friendly and concerned guy, another one of my brother’s friend came up to me and was like “Was the movie too hard for you? Did you get it at all?” I know it was out of holy goodwill but…I was irritated. But after all, I am happy for my brother.
And I missed out on 6F’s gathering.
It was pretty hectic once I reached home from my brother’s church cos I realise again, that I only had maximum 15min to prepare myself for Easter Vigil mass and Joel’s surprise party. Didn’t have time to drop the nuggets that my mum fried at jos’ house so I had to bring it along for mass (which made it really cold and soggy afterwards :() I was late so deprived of a candle which could have made me feel more complete this Easter. Nevertheless, I enjoyed mass (which lasted from 730 to 11pm); singing lots of songs and witnessing Baptism. The Holy Spirit was there.
Then it was the more exciting part. Joel’s surprise farewell parteyy!
Our families really care for him cos all the dishes that each of us brought, were more or less made by our mums/maids. HAHA
Joel: “I see the people that really care about me are your families”
Josh, Sandra and I deliberately escorted Joel to Jos’ house later so the rest had time to set up the awesome ambience – twister mat surrounded with candles; at the rooftop of Jos’ clubhouse. Actually, my focus of blogging about the party is seriously the food. It was amazingly delicious. Let me try to recall all of them..
Nuggets, Dora & family’s pasta, Josh mum’s cocktail salad, Charm’s Shepherd’s pie, Sandra’s pear/apple crumble, Ken & Ben’s Doritos & salsa sauce, curry puffs & drinks. Hope I didn’t miss out any. I got to comment that Josh mum’s cocktail salad is the nicest salad I’ve ever tasted and im lazy to describe whats in it. We took lots of pictures and got chased away by the security guard three times. Proceeded to another area and Sandra, Kenneth, joscelyn Annabel and I played random card games like Dirty Germs, dai di and Memory while the rest sat around chatting and Ben sleeping literally like a log. Then we devoted most of our time to Hearts. It was excruciating and thrilling at the same time as we made a joke out of it, especially when Joel came over and joined us. There was this A1 to F9 joke and in the end I got A2. Phew.. Sandra and Joel got 100points HAHA and the blur Kenneth won. We ended off with two rounds of Bridge and blur Kenneth won the two rounds unknowingly. LOL. And I reached home at around 7am, my parents ready to set off to church again. Its been pretty cyclical yea.
Easter
I knocked out on my bed once I reached home and I slept till around 230pm today afternoon. I consider it as the real start of my weekend but now I find myself struggling to finish homework once again.
Another thing,I don’t know why I was easily touched this Easter but I guess it’s good?
That’s all for Holy Week.
Now, I thought I should note down several things here because I noticed how forgetful I am recently…
I Love my family & I cant wait for my eldest brother to earn more more moar money and get married :D But right now, he’s leaving for the States soon, again. :(
My mum told me two pieces of jaw-dropping news:
Just yesterday, she came back from my paternal grandaunt’s funeral and disclosed that im not that Chinese after all, which is so unbelievable.
Then today, she came back from my Grandmother’s house and told my brother and I how she feels that my granny’s not doing fine and we should visit her SOON. To think I just saw her in church two days back, smiling to me like she was the healthiest person on earth.
My hamsters have been looking depressed these two weeks and I know why. =/
Joel’s going to the army at the 10th hour. Have I mentioned how I hate to adapt to changes? Oh well…all the best Joe! ( And stop thinking too far ahead :) )
I don’t like school. I don’t know why I spent time on this entry instead of my lit essay & gp project and its almost 2am now.
Oh well…Hope you had an AWESOME EASTER!I Did!
